We are thrilled to welcome Shasti Conrad, Chair, WA State Democrats and Vice Chair, National Democratic Committee to our meeting!
Vice Chair Conrad is the first South Asian woman to ever lead a state party in the U.S. She has held numerous positions including with the teams & organizations for Malala Yousafzai, Bernie Sanders, and President Barack Obama. She has also led groups that boost voter registration turnout, support the election of Black women to the WA state legislature, and combat modern slavery & child trafficking.
Vice Chair Conrad will discuss the DNC and WA state’s approach to the upcoming 2026 elections, current trends affecting the Democratic party, and how we can have a vital role in the restoration and preservation of our democracy.
This month’s meeting theme is gratitude, with an eye to the future. We'll celebrate our volunteers and this year's work and facilitate an interactive session to gather your reactions and ideas to a draft of WSI's strategic direction and focus for 2026.
