International Peace Day Action
SEPTEMBER 21, 2025
Join West Seattle Indivisible in a restorative action while standing in community with neighbors in honor of International Day of Peace on Sunday, September 21st.
We seek 1000 people to form a 'human banner’ to spell out PEACE FOR ALL along the West Seattle waterfront. Spectacular views of downtown abound at this site located at 2130 Harbor Ave SW, just south of Salty’s.
Mark your calendars to help send a message of unity to end the global and domestic travesties we witness daily.
We are also looking for lots of volunteers to pull off an event of this size, from planning and preparation to day-of-crew.
Contact volunteer@westseattleindivisible.com to learn more.
Washington residents are about to face a major change in how Medicare approves certain procedures.
Update: Saturday 12:30 pm
As of this morning, Mr. Phetsadakone is home with his family. Read more in the West Seattle Blog.

UPCOMING EVENTS & ACTIONS

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell addressed our members for 15 minutes about what the city will do to maintain its sanctuary city status in the face of a militarized ICE coming after our immigrant neighbors and the protestors who support them.

In one of the largest protests in Seattle’s history, more than 70,000 people turned out on Saturday for No Kings Day in Seattle, one of more than 2000 events held nationwide to protest President Donald Trump’s authoritarian assaults on democracy, immigrants and the rule of law.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
COMMUNITY ESSAYS
Ever since the Epstein scandal took its place as a major story of the day, I’ve been hesitant to write about it because, in my opinion, it is not and should not be the primary reason for opposing this administration and its many illegal and anti-American policies and actions.
When our children ask what you did to save democracy, what will you say? When Democracy Is at Stake, Silence Is Not an Option for West Seattle.
We are making a difference with our actions. The Mayor was here with West Seattle Indivisible. Now we need some of us to step off the street corner and share some of the other work of democracy.
I have been inspired, emboldened, and empowered by individuals and groups such as West Seattle Indivisible, to come up with a personal battle plan.

Healthcare Cuts Hurt Real People, Help WSI Tell That Story
TELL YOUR STORY
Budget cuts to health care programs don’t just affect numbers on a page, they impact lives. We’re gathering local stories to understand how changes to programs like Medicare, Medicaid, the VA, the CDC, and NIH-funded medical research are affecting individuals, families, and communities.
Has your life, or the life of someone you care about, been impacted? Your story matters. By sharing your experience, you can help shine a light on the real-life consequences of these cuts and be part of a movement for change.
