WSI Immigration x Adopt a Corner Meeting

Our WSI Immigration Team will host volunteers from Adopt a Corner, a program supporting day laborers who are at risk of ICE targeting. They run coordinated efforts across several Home Depot locations and organize supply needs and schedules through local Signal chats.

They’ll join us for a Q&A and brainstorming session so we can exchange ideas, ask questions, and explore how our teams can work together.

Workshop: Resisting ICE With Our Community Power and Legal Rights

Join the National Day Labor Organizing Network (NDLON) in collaboration with attorney, educator, and activist Jay Stansell for an afternoon of conversation, information and connection. This is a training for allies who want to understand the importance of supporting our immigrant neighbors and communities; community members who want to know more about their legal rights, particularly to support family and friends who may be at-risk; and activists who want to feel more emboldened in resisting the burgeoning police state that is terrorizing the most vulnerable among us.

In this training we will address:

  • Why we should all care about immigrant rights and resist the threat of mass deportation

  • NDLON's call to action, the Adopt a Corner project

Drawing on open-source training developed by Daniel Hunter and others, this six hour training offers a deep dive into the strategy and practice of noncompliance - how ordinary people can disrupt authoritarian power and grow strength of coordinated resistance.
