More event details:

The advocacy organization Whole Washington plans to use the first day of the legislative session to visit legislator offices and drop off materials. West Seattle Indivisible will join from 11am-1pm to learn more about healthcare-related legislation, march, hold signs, and distribute flyers. Attendees will also be able to work with Whole Washington to visit their legislators’ offices. For West Seattle, that would be the 34th district — Sen. Alvarado, Rep. Thomas and Rep. Fitzgibbon. Anyone is welcome to join for more of the day, or to visit other legislators, particularly if they are from another legislative district.

About the Washington Health Trust

Introduced in multiple legislative sessions and previously as ballot initiatives, the Washington Health Trust has been presented to the Universal Health Care Commission and remains the only universal healthcare bill currently active in the Washington State Legislature (e.g., SB 5233 / HB 1445). It has not yet advanced out of the healthcare committees in the WA House and Senate, so we would like to make sure our legislators understand the importance of acting quickly to fix our broken healthcare system.
