OUR FIRST ACTION OF 2026

On Saturday, January 24, West Seattle’s Hiawatha Playfield will transform into a vibrant gathering space for the “We’re Still Standing” Rally & March, running from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. The event is organized jointly by West Seattle Indivisible and Evergreen Resistance and will bring together community members and coalition partners to deliver a powerful, collective message: we are still standing for our future, united in solidarity and resistance.

Against a backdrop of uncertainty and concern for our democracy, participants will assemble not just to protest, but to celebrate resilience. Families, elders, youth, organizers, and allies are invited to join us as we affirm that community power remains a force for change. Handmade signs, music, and chants will echo across the field as speakers rally for engagement and resistance, reminding everyone present that progress is built through connection and persistence.

Organizers emphasize that this is a space for hope as much as action — a place where people can grieve recent losses, honor perseverance, and imagine a better future together.

Community and coalition partners stress that “We’re Still Standing” is more than a slogan. It’s a declaration that no matter the obstacles, the movement continues. By gathering in public, participants reclaim space and visibility, showing that grassroots voices matter.

Volunteers are needed and welcome. Volunteer opportunities include set-up, take-down, trash, handing out and collecting signs, and set-up and take-down of the post-march location. We will have other events and actions throughout the year. If you would like to pitch in on this celebration of resistance or future events, contact us at: https://www.westseattleindivisible.com/

We’ll see you there!
